Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
The City of Marshfield (population
19,420) is accepting applications for the position of
Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. This position processes
wastewater and biosolids; records meter and gauge readings
and plant logs; collects and analyzes lab samples; performs
general maintenance, enters data and maintains computer
logs. Inspects, repairs, cleans, and televises sewer lines
and manholes.
Qualifications include: High
School diploma or equivalent is required. Wastewater Operator
Certification preferred. Valid WI driver’s license.
Valid Commercial Driver License class A Tanker or required
to obtain within 6 months. Knowledge of and ability to
perform modern wastewater treatment facility operations
and maintenance necessary.
Wage rate (2007): $18.01/hr

is responsible for the direct supervision of a 3.1 MGD Wastewater
Treatment Facility. Candidates must hold a Grade 4 DNR general
certification in wastewater operations along with Grade
4 certification in the following subclasses: activated sludge,

Technician. This position is responsible for the maintenance
program at the Utility and is under limited supervision.
Responsibilities include planning, scheduling and directing
of all preventive and corrective maintenance on process
and general equipment as well as buildings. The successful
candidate should have an associate’s degree and/or
2 – 3 years of experience in wastewater or industrial
process equipment maintenance, with an emphasis on safety.

opening. Experience with construction and/or maintenance
of sewers, manholes, pump stations, and associated facilities.
